About us

We are a family oriented martial arts school that teaches ITF style Taekwon-Do . Botany Taekwon-Do is owened and operated by Subum Mr Dave Butchers 6th Degree black belt (more on Mr Butchers on the meet the senious page) . We have approximately 100 students ranging in age from 4 years up to mid 60s with close to 50/50 male and female membership. We are part of Worldwide Taekwon-Do headed by Grand Master Jamie Moore 9th Degree black belt and also have links to ITFHQ Korea.

We have been operating since 2004 as Botany Taekwon-Do 2024 being our 20th anniversary we have been at Botany downs Primary School since we started with Cockle Bay School coming along a couple of years after.

We do not compete in tournaments so you will not get any medals with us but you will get very fit and learn a life long skill (if you keep training) with us as well as learning a way of life both inside and outside of our Do jang you will also make many new friends.

Our philosophy is that we train hard but we have fun while doing so but always keeping in mind the protocols of our martial art and honouring our Oath and tenits. We have available up to 8 sessions a week depending on your rank.
